Notes:

This composite of all 10 CMR participants from March highlights the consistency of the results. 4 of the 10 (red ring) gained the same amount of core temperature, at a rate of about 1.8 º F per hour. A second group of 4 ( pink ring) gained about 1.1 º F per hr.

The ten individuals were a mix of ages, fitness levels and acclimatization to heat. The only significant difference between the two clusters is that the higher (red ring) group are all under 35 and everyone else is over 35.

The labels indicate which type of apparatus was worn. There was no significant difference between apparatus types and heat gain. The BG4’s (blue tone lines) were equipped with the ice pak heat exchanger. The 174A’s had a measurably hotter (>10 º F) intake air temperature.
