Steady Exposure Rate

Notes:

This is a example of a steady state job, mucking with a LHD. Activity and environmental temperatures are relatively constant. The face was between 101 º F and 105º F during the shift and the dump point around 98ºF. Gaps represent periods where the recorder was too far from the miner.

It should be noted that, perhaps by coincidence, at the point where the miner crossed 100.5 º F he spun the wheel off the LHD while finishing off a muck pile. Perhaps his operating skills had diminished.

After losing the wheel he went to the cool shaft area to call his supervisor. We assume he contacted his supervisor at about 15:10 owing to the spike in his heart rate.
