This is the same Barrick results from the perspective of change in core temperature. As you can see the lines form two distinct groups. The rate of temperature gain was more than twice that observed with Central Mine Rescue even though the environmental conditions of 83 º F WBGT were essentially the same.

The contribution of work rate is significant. Follow-ups will attempt to identify a rest regiment which will overcome this effect.

It should also be noted that the period from 11:05 to 11:25 was during the level/down ramp walking portion and the resulting rate of heat gain is not significantly different than the up ramp walk. A fast pace carrying the load of the apparatus caused the strain regardless of the terrain.
