The photos above are from a roll-over incident that occurred on a Snelson project.
Details are as follows:
Incline was 37 degrees.
You can’t tell from the pictures but there were 2 D-8 dozers cabled to the 583T which was in-turn cabled to the tack rig.
The 583T was also carrying a 120-foot section of 24-inch line pipe.
As they proceeded up the grade in unison, the cable between the rear-most dozer and the 583T broke.
The operator of the 583T was able to drop his load but the tractor still went over backward onto the tack rig.
The 583T turned over twice.
There were no injuries.
